Intuition about Rain

I can see the rain drops being smudged with force on my window. It started raining only a minute ago as I entered my home. I am still awash with an overwhelming sense of euphoria so I decided to share with you how the whole story developed.

A few moments ago I was sitting behind my desk at work when out of nowhere a very urgent idea popped into my mind. I don’t even know how it happened or where it came from but it was very clear – leave right away because it will be raining very soon. My first reaction was to say in my mind “What?” as I was perplexed by the urgent feeling and by the information it carried. Next, I instinctively looked out of my window to see how did the sky look. It was grey as if threatening to unleash an outpour any moment. That surprised me because at lunchtime it was sunny and beautiful outside. “How did the weather change so quickly?” I asked myself.

You will find what I did next very funny. I went to weather.com to check the weather and see if it will really be raining any moment now!!! I cannot help but laugh at my reaction! It was no enough that an urgent intuitive feeling told me to leave right away or I’ll get drenched when I walk home. It was not enough that the sky looked ominous. My human, analytical, thinking mind wanted proof! And guess what?! Weather.com was saying that it would be raining any moment now!

As I was fighting my way through the strongest wind you could imagine a few raindrops began making their way to the ground. However, I arrived home dry and with a heart filled with gratitude.

It is so wonderful to know that I am being taken care of by the universe even in the smallest of ways. Intuition does not always need to be about big and important things. It also is about the small things that makes you feel constantly guided, loved and supported in your journey through life.

It amazes me to think how beautiful and effortless a life of synchronicities is. All I had to do is be open to the information and then act on it. And notice when the information was given to me. It was not given to me in the morning when the sunny bright sky promised a great day. It was not given to me at lunchtime when it would have been an amusing thought, which I could have easily forgotten by the afternoon. It was given to me at the exact time I needed to know it and at the exact moment I was able to act on it.

A life of synchronicities – now, that is a life I am excited to live!

The Balance of Power and Love

Power is a theme that we as a collective consciousness have chosen to examine very deeply. A concept that very often clashes with power is love. We are created from love and our essence is pure love. Yet, we believe that in order to be powerful we cannot show emotions or that when we express love we need to completely disregard our own personal power. Therefore, it is inevitable that these two ideas continuously interact in our history and provide ample opportunities for growth in our lives.

For centuries men were denied the expression of love. To this day, a man who shows emotions is considered weak. Man had to be tough, unfeeling warriors - breadwinners involved in masculine occupations. Just as an example, I remember once seeing a very big, tall and masculine-looking man at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport who was doing an embroidery while waiting for his plane. I recall the disbelief on the faces of passersby who noticed him.

At the same time women were denied their power. They were taught to be obedient, to follow someone else’s will and to concern themselves with only raising children and being good homemakers. The fragility of women and their femininity was raised to a cult during the Renaissance. But then we decided to explore the opposite. The feminist movement screamed loud and clear that women would no longer be the weaker sex. Women swung from the extreme of intentional power deprivation to aggressive excess of masculine energy.

Today we continue to struggle with our definitions of power and finding a balanced expression of power and love. It is an accepted belief that when we come from love we are not honored and powerful. In the work environment women continue to face the choice between having a career and raising their children or being expected to emulate the aggressive and impersonal male management style in order to progress professionally. Women have been, and many of us continue to be, too focused on pleasing others.

But all it takes is for each and every one of us to understand that there is as much power as there is love in us. We need to claim both, for we are both power and love. When we claim our power through divine love we immediately find ourselves at a perfect place of balance. And when the balance within us is defined, the world around us will reflect that balance as well.

Trusting the Universe

An essential part of manifesting what you feel passionate about is the ability to let go and surrender.

For the longest time this concept did not makes sense to me. I saw it as a contradiction of the idea of creation. After all, when you are excited about something and fully love something you don’t say, “Now that was enough,” and go about your marry way. A true passion required true devotion. It seemed to me that it was only appropriate to give your dream all you energy, all your attention, to fully involve all of your imagination and the creative power of your feelings – constantly.

Have you been taught since you were little that to achieve your goals you had to begin by creating a plan, following through the different steps with perseverance and the ability to postpone rewards till the end? I was. I was told that to become someone and get somewhere in life I had to work hard and leave no stone unturned until I achieved my goals. This is a way of perceiving the world and operating in society that is based on sheer will. Behind the belief “I make everything happen” there is no grace, no life-giving energy. There is only a bullish kind of pursuit that is fueled by force.

I simultaneously believed in a magical approach to life and in needing to find ways to bring my dreams to fruition. As you can imagine this contradiction in beliefs created so much frustration in my life. I would lovingly apply all my energy, imagination, excitement and passion to create in my mind’s eye that which I desired but then I wouldn’t release it to the Universe trusting that the Universe will make my dream happen. I would keep the focus on my dream and use all my mental power to try to figure out how to make it happen.

And that is where the problem lied. The only data our physical minds know is patterns, methods and conclusions based on past experiences. When you leave it to your mind to figure out your future you are not creating. You are only re-creating the past. Your thinking mind is not connected to the invisible field of energy and information that is all around you. Only your higher self is. Your higher self has the benefit of looking at things from a higher ground and seeing all the synchronicities that would occur, giving you all the moments of information, opportunities and inspiration that you need. Therefore, leaving your desire in the hands of the universe and trusting that it will be is an equally important ingredient in the creation of manifestation.

Once you spend time immersing yourself in your dream release it to All That Is. Know that you have already set the wheels of creation in motion, so trust!
