It is hard to imagine that it is Monday as I am a world away from my everyday life and from the Monday routine of returning back to work. I though to myself this morning that I am a spirit under cover at work. I prefer to keep my spiritual interests and spiritual life a secret from the people I work with. Even though I do not share with my co-workers the things I share with you here, my spirit is freely roaming, delivering gifts, encouraging and inspiring, and brightening the whole place with my love, big smiles and positive attitude.

How was our Monday here at Omega? Really wonderful! It feels like time does not exist here. As I am sitting in the sanctuary, by the water fountain and the big metal bell I am reflecting on the shift that occurred here on Sunday afternoon. Our seminar “Same Soul, Many Bodies” ended. It was such an amazing experience. Every group comes together for a reason and this was one great group. We were all working together on an energy level, enhancing each others’ experiences. We participated in and supported Cat and Nicky when they had their past life explorations on stage. I hope that Cat and Nicky will share with us how they feel after the regressions and if their symptoms have cleared away — if Cat is able to speak her truth with a little more ease and if Nicky is able to eat more than just 11 foods. Nicky was accompanies by a friend, a girl with a really beautiful soul, so I am sure that with support from her friend she will find the courage to speak with her mother about the past life they shared. The workshop ended on Sunday and for a few hours the campus felt quiet. Then new people began arriving and the energy shifted again.

Today we began our “Past Life Therapy Training” workshop with Brian Weiss where we will be learning how to conduct past life regressions. This morning as everyone in the room introduced himself or herself we all began to see the new patterns in the group and the connections we had. Just as an example, on the back of the room clustered around each other and all sitting on the same row were people who were all looking to open spiritual centers – not scattered throughout the room but all sitting next to each other or near each other on the same row. I am sure that as the week progresses we will find more connections and will form great friendships.

This is the story of Ananachimo and the lesson of needing to allow.

In one of the regression exercises we did with Brian Weiss the image of a group of people crawling up a small slope emerged. I wondered what could this image be and if it is something I needed to brush to the side in my mind in order to get to something more valid. However, I decided to stay with it and see if it develops.

The picture came into focus. The group of people was a band of Native Americans. I wondered which tribe they belonged to and in my head popped the answer that they were with the Plain Indians. Next, I began searching whether I am among the group of people. And there I was. How did I identify myself? I was drawn to the person I was in that lifetime. I just knew who I was. In an instant I knew that my name was Ananachimo. I kept on repeating the name to myself so I can remember it. Ananachimo was a young man with an agile, lean and muscular body. He was tall with long black hair and a strong square jaw. Around his neck he wore the tooth of a white bear he had killed in a hunting trip up north.

The band of Indians was very careful when ascending the slope. On the top of the slope there was a flat area where a house was built. They were spying on the settlers who lived in that house. The settlers have been invading the lands of Ananachimo’s tribe.

I saw him standing on a hill looking across a valley and other hills as far as the eye can see. Ananachimo lifted his left hand in front of his shoulder and gave a vow to protect his land and his people from the settlers.

Ananachimo was greatly attuned to nature. Nature spoke to him. He heard the whisper of the trees when their leaves were swaying in the wind. Every flower, bush and blade of grass carried a message that he was able to read. Ananachimo was also a healer who used herbs to bring back into balance the health of his people.

At the age of 37 an important event occurred in Ananachimo’s life. He had captured and bonded with a mustang with big red and white spots. The name of the horse was The Red Lightening. The white people have somehow taken possession of his mustang. Ananachimo tried to free it and they caught him and accused him of stealing the horse. To punish him, the white people tied his hands above his head and whipped him. I did not see the horror of every whip falling on his back. I only saw that as the white people began whipping him the horse, which was near by, watched everything and shared Ananachimo’s anger and sense of injustice. It was raising its front legs, kicking, making terrible noise and trying to free itself.

However, it was all futile. This event broke Ananachimo’s spirit. He lost his horse but he also lost faith in his own ability to protect his land and his people. He felt that great injustice was being done but he was powerless to bring any change.

As time went by things got worse. His tribe was driven towards the northwest. They were far away form their hunting grounds. On a cold day, at the age of 42, Ananachimo died. He was laying down in his tepee feeling defeated for he could not protect his people, for he could not save them, when his spirit left his body. Outside mostly women and children form his tribe, as most men have died, were going about their day. They were cold, hungry and were feeling completely lost.

As the regression was nearing its end I began searching for the soul lesson of that life. The lesson was about allowing. I had to learn to allow. I blamed myself for having failed to protect and save my people but the truth was that I could not have saved anyone or protected them from the painful historic events. I must allow for people’s lives to unfold as they are meant to, because their souls need these experiences. They have agreed to go through challenges to learn their own lessons and find their own enlightenment. I have seen the big injustice caused by the white men as an evil I have promised to fight. Yet, I have failed to really be of help in times when I was most needed. People do not need saving. People need love, support and encouragement that they can withstand any trials and will always come out stronger, wiser and more compassionate. I cannot shelter anyone from the storms of life because they will never grow, learn and expand.

But how do you allow? How do you maintain the balance of being loving, kind and wanting to help against wanting to save people form the injustice of the world or their own silly mistakes? As you have guessed already, this lesson continues to be a challenge for me so many years later. Even though I changed my gender, my name and my appearance I still want to rush in and shield people.

I left the class session and headed to my room that night with these heavy questions on my mind. The cabin we are in has two rooms in it. As we entered we met one of our neighbors who was on her way to the bathroom. A moment later she realized that she and the other roommate, who was showering, have locked themselves out since both their keys were in their room and the door has locking itself when she pulled to close it. It was pouring outside and our neighbor was barefoot. What a situation to find yourself in! I offered to help.

As I walked in the rain trying to find an Omega staff person I instantly recognized that this little crisis unfolded because of me. It delivered to me the final piece of my lesson. We should always help people in every way we can. We should spare no effort when assisting them on their path. Yet, we should never try to alter the course of their lives by shielding them or trying to save them from their troubles.

I was so grateful to our lovely neighbors. My lesson has crystallized for me.

We arrived at the Omega Institute on Friday just as the sun was setting down. I love this magical time of day as the day is shedding its garment of stress, being in a hurry and needing to accomplish things, and is getting ready to let the moon rays in and put on a mystical mantle of whispers, darkness that holds secrets and allows for dreams to come true.

Arriving at Omega felt like arriving at a camp that you have grown up visiting, where every spot holds a memory of an event that helped you grow up and shaped your life. It felt like coming home after having been away for a long period of time – familiar, comforting and exciting.

I love everything about Omega. I love the simple accommodations – they are a good reminder that a simple life is a life that is closer to nature. I love the campus, the garden with its rows of vegetables and flowers. I love that my cell phone has poor reception. I love the simple yet delicious food. (Tonight we had the tastiest tofu I had ever had in my life. I wish I could find out the recipe so I could make it over and over at home). I love eating on the lawn in front of the dining hall when I need solitude or sitting on a table outside and chatting with all kinds of interesting people. I love how everyone who comes here leaves at the parking lot the protective layers we wear in the “real world” and becomes open, accepting and nice. This place really is a magnet for good people.

As I write this I am sitting on the second floor of the library, marveling the black and white photos of close-ups of yoga posses and recognizing how powerful the human body is. Have you ever been at a library where you take off your shoes at the front door? Omega is a special place.

I am attending Brian Weiss’ workshop “Same Soul Many Bodies.” Brian is a wonderful, wonderful person. He exudes the energy of kindness and compassion. One can hear his love for the work he does in his soft and melodic voice. His jokes are great and they make for such good moments of relief and balance to the serious topic of reincarnation. Having discovered a therapy approach that he is a leading advocate of, he does not take the ego position that he offers the one true path to healing, instead he is open to different interpretations, to incorporating new notions and allowing for new ideas to come in. I think this is really admirable for it allows for growth and development. Here is a story which he told us that exemplifies that he really keeps an open mind.

Prior to arriving at Omega, Brian was on an Alaska cruise organized by Hay House where he and other teachers conducted workshops. At one of his workshops, Brian had a blind woman who was accompanied by her small white service dog. As you know these dogs are very well trained and their actions are completely synchronized with the actions of their owner. For those of you who have done regressions with Brian or have listened to his recordings know that he uses a slower method of induction, of reaching a deep hypnotic state. When he is ready to lead people towards their past lives he offers the image of standing in front of a door and passing through the door in order to get to that experience. After the regression was over this woman shared with Brian that throughout the entire lecture, all the way up until the moment of her standing in front of the door, the dog was very tranquil and sitting calmly by her side. At the very moment she stood in front of the image of a door in her mind, preparing to cross over, the dog got up ready to leave with her, ready to lead her just like it would in every day life.

Isn’t it interesting? The dog acted in a way it would have acted had she stood up getting ready to pass through a physical door. This example questions whether what we are really experiencing is a memory or whether there is an aspect of regression that we do not comprehend with our limited sensors and our limited perception of reality. And Brian Weiss had the open mind to recognize this.

I am enjoying my time at the workshop. I am meeting people whose souls are so beautiful that I wish I had all the time in the world to get to know them better. I saw in a very vivid way the moment I was born. I also had a very meaningful past life recall that I look forward to sharing with you tomorrow.

My mom and I will be fully submerged in the world of past lives and hypnosis for the next 8 days. We will be attending seminars with Brian Weiss at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York.

I had my first regression many, many years ago. I was 13 years old when I read Brian Weiss’ book “Through Time Into Healing”. In the book he describes different cases, the symptoms each client has, the past life recall which provided the answer to the different ailments and the cure that followed. At the end of the book there was a script which a person could record on a tape (back then it was a tape ), later play it and experience regression. I was intrigued by the concept of healing through remembering past lives so I decided to make my own recording. While doing the recording I was well aware that there is really nothing wrong with me – no phobias, no anxieties, no ailments but I was very curious and wanted to try.

Looking back it is very interesting that I did not question the concept of reincarnation even though it was not part of my upbringing and I even doubt it was ever discussed in my presence. It just seemed so natural, no normal, as Voltaire says, “It is not more surprising to be born twice than once.”

It was a quiet afternoon during summer break when I had my first regression. In an instant I was transported to the time of World War II and had the most vivid and absolutely indescribable experience. It was a short but very emotional sequence of events that lead to my death. Even now as I am writing my heart begins to pound as I remember the heart-wrenching scenes. And then the moment of death came. It was such a peaceful, loving moment that I want to share it with you.

Me, as the observer, as Rethnea, had risen above the commotion that was going on around the former person I was. Everything was black around me — peaceful, eternal, quiet. I was observing the scene below me when I saw how at the moment of death my soul lifted from that previous body and began moving upward. There was a path of light and what looked like an entrance from which the light was emanating. Next to the entrance was standing a beautiful being of light, waiting to welcome my soul. I observed how my soul flew towards the light and a feeling of divine tranquility overcame me. I came out of the regression knowing that death was not something to be feared.

Hypnosis offers the path to recalling past lives. Because of stage performances at country fairs and TV shows people believe that hypnosis allows for mind control. This is so far from the truth. Hypnosis is focused concentration. Each one of us has experienced hypnosis on so many occasions. For example when we are driving and all of a sudden we find ourselves having reached a certain point in our trip without knowing how we got there – how we made all those left turns or stopped at traffic lights. We were just on autopilot while our mind was completely focused on something else. Hypnosis happens to us when we read and are so engulfed in the story and become part of it that we completely forget that our world is all around us.

There is no harm or danger in hypnosis. And most importantly you are fully present throughout the whole experience and can get out of the meditative state at any moment if you choose. Your analytical mind is working just like in your waking state and you can censor and not share with the therapist what you see. You cannot get stuck in the past life because what you are experiencing is a memory.

I am a great advocate and a believer in using past lives to heal and to achieve a deeper comprehension. I have gained precious insight into understanding myself and understanding why I am here. We tend to reincarnate with people with whom we have shared previous lives. Therefore, revisiting past lives provides a way to understand the connections you share with people and the lessons you are teaching each other.

Revisiting traumatic events in past lives magically does away with present-day aches and pains in your body or phobias and anxieties people have. Another very important benefit of past-life therapy is that people realize that they are eternal and they loose their fear of dying. This creates a whole new way of perceiving life and gives them a newfound sense of joy and liberation.

For me personally another added benefit is that I become very psychic. I believe that all that focusing inward allows for my sixth sense (my intuition) to come forward and take center stage. Living in the noisy, crowded and busy New York City my intuition gets muffled often, so being fully guided by my psychic senses is something I cherish and look forward to.

Some people wonder whether what they experience is real, whether what they see is an impressive product of their active imagination. I do not believe it could be. When one has a real past life recall they know it. It feels real and meaningful and no one can convince you otherwise. There is no authority which can confirm the authenticity of your experience, therefore, I cannot offer any hard evidence to those who doubt their regressions. Yet, here is the beauty of it – It works even if you do not believe in it. It really does. Nothing can deceive your soul and when it experiences an authentic healing and a reminder of itself it knows.

I will be blogging from Omega over the next 8 days and will continue sharing with you the new discoveries that regression will lead me to.
